This browser-based utility changes the sign of one or more integers and prints them in the output. By default, it flips the sign of each integer to the opposite sign but you can also convert all integers to be positive or negative. The positive values and zero does not use the sign character but with the "Force Sign" option, you can force the "+" sign in front of these values. Created by math nerds from team Browserling.
With this online application, you can invert the sign in front of all integers that are listed in a vertical column in the input. If the integer is negative, then it becomes positive, and if the integer is positive, it becomes negative. The value 0, in this case, does not change the sign because it's neither positive nor negative. This is the app's default behavior. We have also added two extra sign modes to this program. The "Minus Sign" mode makes every value in the output negative, regardless of the sign in the input. The "Plus Sign" mode takes the absolute value of every integer and returns all values as positive integers. By default, positive integers do not use a sign but you can add the "+" sign in front of them by activating the "Force Sign" option. It also adds a "+" or "-" before a zero. If the input integer is +0, then it becomes -0, and the other way around. Integerabulous!
In this example, we reverse the signs of eleven integers to the opposite signs. Values 1 to 5 are greater than zero, so they become less than zero in the output. Integers -6 to -10 are less than zero, so they turn greater than zero in the output. The integer 0 doesn't have a sign, therefore its sign does not change.
This example activates the "Minus Sign" option. With this option on, all integers become negative. To do it, the utility looks at the first symbol of the input integers. If it's a "-", then it prints the value as-is. If it's a digit, then it prepends a "-" in front in front of each integer.
In this example, we convert a list of alternating integers into positive integers by enabling the "Plus Sign" mode. This mode takes the absolute value of each integer, which drops the minus sign if there was one. Also, all integers are printed with the forced "+" sign in front of them. This is achieved by enabling the "Force Sign" option. This option also adds a plus character to the zero value, which usually does not have a sign.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!
