Integer adder

World's simplest integer tool
This browser-based utility adds all the given integers and prints their sum in the output. You can immediately calculate the total of multiple integers or enable partial sum mode and follow the summation process step by step. Each integer should be put on its own line but you can customize the integer separator in the options. Created by math nerds from team Browserling.

Integer Separator
Input any text with integers and the program will automatically recognize them and add them.
Input a well-formed list of integers and specify the separator that appears between them in the option below.
Separator of input integers.
Partial Sums
Output the running sum, adding the current integer to the preceding integers.
Sum Terms
Display all the integer terms one by one when calculating the sum.

What is a integer adder?

learn more about this tool
With this online application, you can calculate the sum of integers. There's no limit to how many values you can sum up at once as it works with ten, hundred, and even thousand values. There's also no limit to the integer length. They can be very, very large up to one million digits or as tiny as single digit integers. The program can automatically identify all the integers in the given text file. For example, if the text is "6 kittens and 10 puppies", the program will output the sum of both integers 6 and 10 on the screen as 16 (6 + 10). The tool also allows you to manually set a character delimiter for the integers if the input list has a specific format. For instance, for a list of integers "5, 10, 20, 30", you can choose the "Separate Integers by a Symbol" mode, specify the comma symbol in the options, and get the output sum as 5 + 10 + 20 + 30 = 65. Another useful option is the "Show Partial Sums". It shows the partial sum as the total sum is computed. The partial sum shows the sum up to the current integer, which includes all preceding integers. For example, if you have a list of values 5, 10, 20, 30, then with the partial sum option active, you'll get 5, 15 (5 + 10), 35 (5 + 10 + 20), 65 (5 + 10 + 20 + 30). To see the sequence of terms that make up the sum in the output, you can enable the "Output Sum Terms" option. Integerabulous!

Sum of 1 to 100
In this example, we find the total of adding the first one hundred natural numbers. We paste a sequence of comma-separated integers from 1 to 100 in the input, and the webapp adds them in this way: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + … + 100. In the output, it displays the sum, which is equal to 5050. We also set the separator to the comma symbol to correctly split the sequence into individual integers.

Count a Number of Puppies in Text
This example automatically finds and extracts integers from the given text via the "Smart Integer Detection" option. It calculates the sum of newborn puppies in an animal shelter and displays the value 10 (3 + 5 + 2) on the screen.
We have 3 black puppies, 5 spotted puppies, and 2 gray puppies.

Alternating Signs Sum
This example sums a list of eight integers with alternating signs. The first integer is positive, the second is negative, the third is positive, and so on. Each list item is written on a separate line, so we use the character "\n" that denotes a newline in the list item delimiter option. Since the absolute value of negative integers is greater than the absolute value of positive integers, we get a negative sum equal to -10000.

Count the Number of Development Hours
In this example, we calculate the number of development hours for a new Internet project. Since we already have a list of task estimates with approximate development hours, we simply load this list as the input. By enabling the smart integer detection algorithm, the program calculates the sum of all the hour values in the text and displays the final sum on the screen. Along with the sum, it also prints a formula with all the terms that were summed up because the "Output Sum Terms" option is active.

Integer Partial Sum
In this example, we enable the "Show Partial Sums" option to see how the sum changes as every next integer is added to the previous ones. Initially, the partial sum value is equal to the first integer and is equal to 100. The second partial sum is calculated by adding the second integer to the first partial sum so now it's 100 + (-45) = 55. Then the third integer is added to the previous partial sum and we get 55 + (-30) = 25. This continues until all integers are added. Each partial result is displayed on a new line, and the last value is the total sum of all integers.
